GoTraveler
Privacy Policy
How GoTraveler handles community account, submission, session, security, and operational information.
Version: 1.0 ยท Effective: 2026-07-16
Information we handle
Community accounts include an email address, display name, password hash, and optional avatar, biography, and home city. We retain submissions, moderation history, creator attribution, account status changes, and security records needed to operate the platform.
Authentication and cookies
GoTraveler uses strictly necessary community and administrator session cookies and security mechanisms. V1.0 does not use analytics, advertising, behavioral-tracking, or location cookies, so no cookie-consent banner is provided.
Public profiles
Eligible creators control whether their profile is public and whether their home city appears. Public pages never expose account email, password information, private submissions, or security counters.
Security and operational records
Administrator audit records may retain HMAC-hashed IP information and bounded user-agent information. Operational server logs may temporarily contain IP addresses and user-agent information and are retained only as reasonably necessary for security, diagnostics, and operations, subject to infrastructure policy.
Tracking and retention
Aggregate outbound click counts are retained without user, session, or IP association. Search queries are not intentionally persisted by the application. Accounts may be disabled or archived rather than immediately deleted, and no automated full-account erasure workflow currently exists. The platform does not currently operate an advertising data marketplace or share community account credentials with content sources.
Legal review
This policy requires professional legal review before production acceptance, including exact infrastructure retention periods and jurisdiction-specific wording.
